NEUROENGINEER & VENTURE FUTURIST

Ariane Tom, PhD

Dr. Ariane Tom is a Stanford-trained PhD in neuroengineering and one of the few venture capitalists globally with formal expertise in neural interfaces, AI, and deeptech IP. As the Founder of Kaleida Capital—a top-decile early-stage investment firm in science-driven technologies—she has advised and invested in Nobel Laureates, built cross-disciplinary companies, and deployed capital across frontier sectors including brain-computer interfaces, synthetic biology, and predictive health.

At Kaleida Studios, Ariane provides strategic oversight across studio positioning, science-aligned content development, and long-term IP governance. She leads the studio’s edutainment and documentary initiatives, ensuring Kaleida’s creative outputs are grounded in both intellectual and cultural credibility.

Her thought leadership has been featured at the UN General Assembly Science Summit, Milken Institute, North American Neuromodulation Society, and global innovation conferences. As both an investor and a communicator, Ariane brings a rare ability to translate frontier science into emotionally resonant, commercially scalable narrative frameworks.

OUR STUDIO'S APPROACH TO THE IMAGINED & ENGINEERED

Our studio bridges two worlds — scientists ready to share their discoveries and storytellers seeking scientific depth. Whether you’re a researcher with a message or a filmmaker building future worlds, Kaleida Studios is designed to turn insight into influence — on screen and beyond.

01

Concept Incubation

We specialize in narrative strategies that carry weight — advancing scientific themes with cultural intelligence. Our storytelling services are designed to shift public perception, secure mission-driven alignment, and elevate underrepresented voices within science and technology.

We help scientists, labs, and mission-aligned institutions evolve raw ideas into narrative-ready concepts — translating complex research into emotionally resonant story blueprints. For creators, we offer research-backed creative guidance to strengthen speculative projects with scientific depth and originality.

From short-form content and trailers to serialized docuseries and longform features, we produce visually compelling media that balances art and intellect. Whether it’s a lab profile or a full-fledged cinematic narrative, we tailor the scope to your story and goals.

Our worldbuilding process draws on real science to design future-facing environments, systems, and characters. We also advise on IP structuring to help scientists and creators retain integrity while building commercially viable and culturally durable narratives.

Kaleida Studios: Where Science Becomes Story

Kaleida Studios is a science-driven media studio creating intelligent, emotionally resonant narratives across film, audio, and immersive formats. We explore the deepest questions shaping the human experience in a technological age.

We believe stories are not just entertainment—they are instruments of inquiry. When rooted in scientific truth and cultural imagination, they become blueprints for what’s possible.

At Kaleida, the creative process is collaborative, cross-disciplinary, and future-facing.

Conversations That Rewire Thought:
The Future Is Listening

Season One of Kaleida Studios’ debut podcast series, The Future Is Listening, brings scientists and storytellers into rare, unscripted dialogue—exploring the social, ethical, and imaginative frontiers of brain-computer interfaces, emotional AI, psychedelic therapy, and synthetic memory.

This isn’t an interview series; it’s a narrative excavation – where technical fluency meets cultural imagination, and two worlds rarely in the same room begin to shape the future together.

Designed for early adopters, curious thinkers, and creative collaborators, each episode unpacks how neurotechnology is poised to reshape society—not just from the lab bench, but from the writer’s room, the policy desk, and the cultural psyche.

The result is a listening experience that is both intellectually rigorous and emotionally resonant.

Available from Q4 2025.

Stories That Shift the Culture:
Real Science, Real Stakes

Kaleida Studios’ nonfiction slate brings real science to screen — crafting cinematic narratives from the frontier of neuroscience, AI, and human potential. From lab to lens, we turn emerging science into stories with real cultural stakes — designed for viewers ready to think deeper.

Whether the subject is neural augmentation, emotional intelligence in machines, or rewriting the limits of human life, each piece is crafted to provoke thought and activate audiences long after the screen fades.

Produced in collaboration with foundations, researchers, and mission-aligned funders, these narratives serve as both cultural artifacts and impact media—bridging entertainment with education, policy, and societal foresight.
